Bloom's Digital Taxonomy


The Digital Taxonomy was initially developed by Andrew Churches, the digital taxonomy account for the use of social media and a variety of digital tools that can be used in educational contexts.

This diagram, taken from Andrew Churches' web site for the digital taxonomy, is a nice illustration of his thinking. His website, Educational Origami (also done on Wikispaces) is an authoritative document on the subject.

Revised from Blooms original document, the revised taxonomy looks at the following thinking skills:

Beginning with Bloom's Revised Taxonomy, published in 2001 by a colleague of Bloom, Churches takes the thinking skills from this document and applies the digital tools and skills which would apply. It's an interesting framework and is critical to understanding how 21st Century Learning Skills, to a degree, build upon each other.
